home-training a dog for people with disabilities. please help?

i am 16 and would love to home-train a dog for people with disabilities. (where you take home the dog and take it places with you and teach it to be around people)
I have always loved animals and would love to go through a program to do this.
I am sure that you have to take a class first and learn what it takes to train the dog and i am wondering if anyone knows about a program that helps people do this.

You mean puppy raising. Find a service dog program near you and apply. Alternately, check with your local 4-H, which might already have a project working with a guide or service dog school.

Be aware that someone has to be home with the puppy during the day. Since you’ll be in school, that means one of your parents will be responsible for the dog while you are at school.
