Once reason is because cardigans are great when layered with other clothing. Cardigans usually fall below the hip and therefore work well for all shapes and figures as they can cover many problem areas. This sweater type can be button down, zippered or open with no closures. This style of sweater has stood the test of time and is truly a classic that everyone will want to have in their wardrobe.

The Turtleneck Sweater

When you think of classic sweaters, the turtleneck can not be overlooked. This classic style of sweater is good too for both men and women. The high neck protects the skin from the elements and is especially great for the Fall and Winter months. Many who engage in Winter sports are often seen donning a turtleneck sweater. These sweaters can be made of thick or thin materials which make it a great sweater for layering.

The Sweater Coat

This style of sweater is longer in length, and about the same style and length as a three quarter length overcoat. The sweater coat is belted at the waist or buttons down the entire front. The sweater coat can be a great substitute for a full-on jacket in the fall and winter months. Of course, this classic style can be layered over other sweaters and can be worn with pants or jeans, so it’s great for work, play or entertaining. The classic sweater coat is typically worn or made for women; however, there are a lot of modern styles that men can sport as well. These sweaters are great for all seasons even though colder months are when they really take their place on the fashion scene.
