can a dog stay in a kennel previously used by a different one?
my family and i are planning to get a puppy soon. our previous dog, belle, died about 7 months ago, and her kennel has not been used or occupied since.
will our new puppy be able to use belle’s kennel? (or will the smell of other dogs [if there still is one] bother him/her?)
Yes, it’s okay to use it. But wash it down with 1 part bleach to 9 parts water to kill any infections that may be lurking from the old dog if it died from an illness.
The smells of other dogs will probably be comforting for the new puppy, or at least interesting. It won’t hurt anything.
